Frozen Icicles

I just love this idea of creating 'Frozen Icicle Sweets'. Here's how to make them!

  • 2 cups water

  • 1 cup white corn syrup

  • 3 1/2 cups sugar

  • 1/4 tsp cream of tartar

  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

  • 3 drops of blue gel food coloring

Boil the mixture and then continue stirring it on the heat until it reaches 300 degrees F (used a candy thermometer to measure the temp). At that point, pour it into a tray to cool. It hardens up in about an hour and then smash it to pieces! That's the most fun bit :)

No-Sew Tutus

Wow! This is an amazing idea for anyone who like me, isn't a big fan of sewing! As you can see in the image, you can easily tie strips of mesh onto a ribbon, repeat in a beautiful colour pattern, and then tie the ribbon around your little one's waist! I imagine you could also do this with elastic.

Glitter Balloons!

Glitter balloons, a great idea to make your princess party extra special

I found this brilliant image on Pinterest, and thought it would be fab for a 'homemade' mirror ball for your party. Why not spend the morning of your party creating these with you little one?

1. Blow up balloons

2. Coat the bottom half in some balloon friendly glue

3. Dip in a tray of glitter

4. Hang from the light fittings with some curling ribbon

Cupcake Dresses

I saw this and thought, what a great idea! Instead of one huge birthday cake which can be time consuming and tricky to cut, you can strategically place cupcakes on a silver or gold board, in the shape of a dress! So lovely.

Glitter Cups

Following on from my post about glitter balloons... I found this image of plastic 'wine glass' style cups, with glitter on the bottom! You can get these cups from most supermarkets, and they'll be sure to give that extra specially Royal princess feel!

1. Coat the bottoms of the cups in PVA glue

2. Sprinkle glitter all over! Why not match the glitter colour with your princess' dress?

3. Leave to dry
